Saw palmetto: what studies show
Answer first

Saw palmetto is a palm-berry extract. A systematic review of small studies looked at topical and oral saw palmetto in hair loss and found some positive reports, but the studies were small and varied. It is one of 10 ingredients in Folli-Activ. Research on single ingredients is not proof of what Folli-Activ does for you.

What the review found

Some studies reported improvement, but quality and design were limited.

Safety notes

Ask a doctor if you take blood thinners or hormone medicines, or before surgery.

Questions

Is it safe for women?

Folli-Activ is not for pregnant or breastfeeding women; ask a doctor.

Is saw palmetto a drug?
