Curcumin, from turmeric, is poorly absorbed on its own. A classic study found piperine from black pepper increased curcumin levels in the blood in volunteers. That is why the two are often paired, including in Folli-Activ. Research on single ingredients is not proof of what Folli-Activ does for you.
The absorption question
Piperine has been studied for slowing curcumin's breakdown in the body.
Cautions
Piperine can affect how some medicines are absorbed. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you take regular medicines.
Questions
Is turmeric in food enough?
Food is great, but amounts are small.
Can it upset my stomach?
Some people get mild stomach upset; take with food.
Studies mentioned
These studies looked at ingredients or general approaches. None of them tested our treatments or products, so they are background, not proof.
