Lace, mono or skin: choosing a hair system base
Answer first

Lace bases are the most breathable and give the most natural hairline, which matters in Malaysian heat, but they are more delicate. Thin skin (polyurethane) bases are easy to clean and hold adhesive well but feel warmer. Mono bases sit in between, with good durability and a natural parting.

Lace

Fine mesh, very light and airy, invisible front edge. Needs gentle handling.

Skin

Smooth film that cleans easily and suits tape or glue. Can feel warmer in humid weather.

Mono and hybrids

A sturdier mesh, often with a lace front or skin perimeter, for people who want balance.

Questions

Which is best for sweating?

Lace or a lace-front hybrid usually feels coolest.

Can I change base later?

Yes, your next system can use a different base.
