In the first week, keep it simple: wash gently as your therapist showed you, avoid heavy sweating and harsh scrubbing for the first days, keep strong sun off your scalp, and message us if anything feels uncomfortable. Most of the work is not doing too much.
Days 1 to 3: be gentle
Follow the written aftercare sheet you were given. Wash with lukewarm water and a mild shampoo, use your fingertips rather than nails, and pat dry with a soft towel. Skip hard brushing at the roots.
Hold off on the gym, saunas and long outdoor exercise for the first days. Sweat and friction are the most common things that make the scalp feel irritated after any session.
Days 4 to 7: back to normal, slowly
Most people return to their usual routine by the end of the week. Re-introduce styling products one at a time so you can tell what your scalp likes. If you use home products such as Folli-Fix, ask your therapist when to restart.
Wear a cap or use an umbrella in strong midday sun. Malaysian UV is high all year, and a sunburnt scalp is uncomfortable whether or not you had a session.
When to message us
Message us if you notice redness that keeps getting worse, swelling, or anything that worries you. We would rather hear from you early. If you feel unwell, see a doctor.
Take a photo in the same spot and light at the end of the week. It gives you and your consultant an honest reference for your review visit.
Questions
Can I wash my hair the same night?
Follow the timing on your aftercare sheet. Your therapist tells you when the first wash is fine and how to do it.
Can I go swimming in the first week?
Wait until your therapist says it is fine. Chlorine and long soaking are best avoided in the first days.
