The 650nm step uses low-power red light on the scalp as part of the Genesis programmes. It is gentle and contact-free. Research on low-level light in hair loss used specific devices and protocols; it did not test our programmes, so we do not claim the light step grows hair.
What 650nm means
650 nanometres is a wavelength of visible red light. Low-level means low power, so it is not a cutting or heating laser.
What research looked at
Reviews of low-level laser and LED therapy in alopecia report mixed results that depend on device, dose and how often it was used. These are studies on devices, not proof for any programme.
What it does not do
It does not diagnose anything, does not replace a doctor, and is not a reason to skip other care. If you are light-sensitive or take light-sensitising medicine, tell us.
Questions
Is it safe for my eyes?
Your eyes are protected during the step. Tell us if you have any eye condition.
Can I buy the same light for home?
We do not sell a home device. Home devices vary widely.
Studies mentioned
These studies looked at ingredients or general approaches. None of them tested our treatments or products, so they are background, not proof.
